Meet the team
MLG is overseen by a Leadership Team who work very closely with the local church leaders across the network. The Leadership Team is focused on providing direction as well as supporting leaders across the churches. As of 2026, we have a new Conference Planning Team heading up the practical aspects of the MLG Gathering.

Tim Cross
Senior Pastor, River Church
Tim heads up the MLG Leadership team. He is the pastor of the River Church in Orpington. Tim passionately believes that we are stronger together and that we need to see God release the potential in ordinary people. He is married to Helen and they have 3 young boys
John Watson
Senior Pastor, Eltham Green Community Church
John and Janna have been serving the church at Eltham since 2006. They have a heart to see the local church engaged in reaching the world with the gospel. Together they head up Fresh Ground Coffee House as a means to reach the local community.
Matt Chilvers
Senior Pastor, City Church Chester
Matt is a leader of City Church Chester. Matt's great desire is to see Jesus build His church and see a fresh outpouring of God in our nation. Matt has a busy schedule leading the church, managing a small construction firm and being the father to 3 children with his wife Charlotte.
John Greenall
Development Team Lead
John leads the network development team at MLG. He lives in London, works as a doctor and has been involved with MLG from the beginning.
Conference Planning Team
Mark and Alice Cross
Mark and Alice live in Orpington and attend the River Church with their 4 children. Mark is a he's a keen cyclist and enjoys a good book. Alice is joining the team this year and works as a community worker for their church, enjoying time with friends and the outdoors with her dogs.
Ruth Elks
Ruth and her husband Peter spent many years serving the Lord in Thailand and Cambodia and now live on the Wirral. They love returning to Asia when opportunities arise, and closer to home enjoy time with family, serving the local church, and walking in the countryside.
Matt and Catherine Parting
Matt and Catherine live near Wokingham in Berkshire. Matt is a Headteacher at a primary school in Reading and Catherine is a Speech and Language Therapist. They have two teenage children, Simeon and Martha, and attend a local community church.
Phil and Fiona Harvey
Phil and Fiona live in Exeter and have three adult children. They previously spent ten years in Malawi and Kenya working in Christian mission, where Phil also served as Headteacher of an International School. Fiona works for a busy church and Phil continues in teaching. They are looking forward to being part of MLG this summer.
