Worship and Ministry

At the heart of MLG Summer Gathering is time together with God. Every aspect of the week is designed to help you encounter Him — whether in the gathered meeting, in a seminar, in early morning prayer, or simply around a fire pit late at night.

Morning Prayer

Start the day the right way. Each morning there is an early Prayer Meeting — a short, focused time to set our hearts before God before the day begins. It's one of the most valuable parts of the week and a great way to connect with others across the network. Tea and coffee provided.

Kids Praise

Before the main morning session, children gather for their own time of worship and praise — an energetic, joyful start to the day that gets everyone ready to meet God together. Please note, under 10s need to have a grown up with them.

Morning Sessions

Each morning we gather as a whole community for worship and Bible teaching. Our guest speakers bring messages rooted in Scripture, and there is space for the Holy Spirit to move in ministry and prayer.

Children sometimes join for the worship before heading to their own groups, and at other times go to their groups earlier (please check the programme to find out what happens each morning).

Thursday, we pause for a dedicated Worship & Prayer Focus — a slower, deeper session set aside entirely for seeking God together. These times have consistently been some of the most powerful moments of the week.

Seminars

Alongside the main teaching, we run a rich programme of seminars designed to help us think and live as followers of Jesus in the real world. In 2026 there are four seminar streams, each running across the week:

  • Stream 1 — Faith in Families
How do we raise children and build households that are rooted in faith? This stream explores the joys and challenges of family life through a gospel lens, with practical encouragement for parents and carers. Ed Drew will also be hosting an FAQ session during the week for questions and open discussion.

  • Stream 2 — Faith in Work
Most of us spend the majority of our waking hours at work — so how does faith shape the way we work, lead, and relate to colleagues? This stream explores what it looks like to live out the gospel in the workplace, honestly and practically.

  • Stream 3 — Faith through Scripture
The Bible is our foundation — but are we reading it well? This stream digs into Scripture with depth and confidence, helping us grow in our understanding and love of God's Word. Paul Blackham will also be hosting an FAQ session during the week for further discussion and questions.

  • Stream 4 — Soul Food
A space to slow down, be nourished, and attend to the inner life. Soul Food is for anyone who wants to go deeper in their walk with God — exploring themes of spiritual health, rest, and renewal. We are excited to have Lydia and Jimmy with us to lead 2 sessions on prophetic ministry,  Jimmy will also be leading an art workshop on Monday afternoon in line with this seminar stream.

We will be rounding off our seminar streams as part of Thursday morning session 1 with interviews relating to each of these areas — honest, personal conversations that bring the topics to life.

Evening Sessions

Each evening at 7pm we gather for worship and ministry. These are open, expectant times — come ready to sing, to pray, and to receive. There is space for the Holy Spirit to work and for personal ministry after the meeting.

After Hours

The ministry doesn't stop when the meeting ends. Throughout the week there are fire pits, open spaces, and informal gatherings where conversations continue, friendships deepen, and God often shows up in the quieter moments too.
